Make It Easy

Many ham glaze recipes suggest that you boil the ingredients, but honestly, if you’re making a ham on the holidays, you’re probably already trying to make up time. For this recipe you don’t need to boil anything, just throw the ingredients in a bowl and mix with a spoon. That’s it.

Substitutions

I always try to include this section as I know sometimes we forget we’re missing something in our pantry. As always, try to stick to the original recipe if possible.

  • If you don’t have orange juice, you can use pineapple juice instead. You can even add some additional pineapple chunks in it too! Who else loves the taste of ham and pineapple?
  • Don’t have honey? You can use pure maple syrup instead.

How Long to Bake a Ham?

The rule I use to making ham is cooking it 10 minutes per pound in the oven at 350 degrees. This is the suggestion if your’e starting with a fully cooked ham.

To keep it juicy, I recommend always cooking ham cut side down so it soaks up all the natural juices. This makes it really yummy!

You can also make ham in the slow cooker , which makes a really juicy ham!
