My family loves mushrooms — even my daughters pack raw mushrooms in their lunchboxes. We make mushrooms constantly, from these roasted mushrooms to my crockpot mushrooms , and we never get tired of them.

Best Mushrooms For Roasting

White button mushrooms are my go-to for roasting. They’re easy to find, budget-friendly, and roast down into tender, flavorful bites with golden, crispy edges. They also absorb seasonings really well, which makes them perfect for simple weeknight sides.

Cremini (baby bella) mushrooms are another great option if you want a deeper, earthier flavor. Portobello mushrooms work too — just slice them before roasting so they cook evenly.

How to Roast Mushrooms in the Oven

Start by washing 1 pound of button mushrooms. After washing, make sure to dry completely.
