Fresh Onion Sandwich

Are you ready for a simple delight? You will be amazed by how delicious fresh onion slices are on toasted bread! Spread minced garlic and cream cheese onto the bread, and your favorite lunch or snack is ready!

Ingredients for Raw Onion Sandwich

  1. Onions, yellow or red onions both work.
  2. Bread, you can use regular white/wheat bread, or be fancy and use a baguette. Whatever you choose, please toast it first!
  3. Butter, for toasting it, just like a grilled cheese sandwich.
  4. Cream Cheese, this is going to be our spread.
  5. Minced Garlic, Salt and Pepper, for flavor.

How to Make a Crunchy Onion Sandwich

Spread butter on both sides of the bread and grill in a skillet , just like you were making a grilled cheese.

Place toasted bread on a plate Spread cream cheese on both pieces of bread. Now add minced garlic, spreading it around on the cream cheese evenly.

Add thin slices of onions to one piece of the bread, sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Place bread on top, gently pressing down and enjoy your onion sandwich!

What else can I add to my sandwich?

  • Add a slice of cheese when grilling it, like American or provolone cheese to make it ooey gooey.
  • My dad loves a onion and limburger cheese sandwich!
  • Add slices of fresh red tomatoes for sweetness.
  • For more crunch, add radishes or thinly sliced cucumbers.
  • Don’t love cream cheese? Try butter or pesto instead.
